Your chance to take part in new Government research into fatigue

Driver fatigue is a key safety risk faced by those who drive for work. Factors including long work hours, commercial pressures, and 24-hour operations interact to increase the risk of fatigue-related incidents and accidents. In addition to serious safety events, driver fatigue may have an adverse impact on day-to-day operating costs. However, the consequences driver fatigue has for operational performance and operating costs have not yet been measured in a comprehensive manner.

The Department for Transport DfT has recently commissioned Driving for Better Business partner Clockwork Research - driver fatigue specialists, to investigate the links between hours of work, driver performance, safety and operational efficiency.

Clockwork is looking for DFBB champions and network members to participate in the study by providing access to a range of databases, including in-vehicle monitoring systems and incident records. All data will be treated as confidential and participating operations will be anonymised in any reports.
