Driving for Better Business in Kent & Medway

Driving for Better Business is working with the Kent and Medway Safer Roads Partnership to deliver tools, information and resources tailored specifically to help local businesses with staff who drive for work, including access to a free driving for work policy builder.

Driving for Better Business is a government-backed National Highways programme. Our mission is to improve the levels of compliance for all those who drive or ride for work by demonstrating the significant business benefits of managing work-related road risk more effectively.

It is free to join and all our resources are free to access and distribute. Check out some of the improvements that have been seen by other local firms and then register for access to our driving for work policy templates.

“The Driving for Better Business Kent & Medway programme supports our Vision Zero casualty reduction strategy by preparing motorists employed for work. We are working with organisations around the county to ensure fleets and drivers are properly managed, helping to achieve our aim of making our roads safer for everyone while supporting the Kent economy.”

Neil Baker, Kent County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport

“As PCC, road safety is one of my priority areas, and we know that Kent’s public also want to see safer roads. Working in partnership we are committed to raising the standards of fleets in Kent and Medway. This is why we are pleased to support the Kent Driving for Better Business Programme, to help local businesses make their vehicles and drivers as safe as possible.”

Matthew Scott, Kent’s Police Crime Commissioner

“Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) is committed to working with Driving for Better Business (DfBB) to help educate people about the benefits of the initiative and to also demonstrate best practice.

“By working in partnership with DfBB, we are focused on making KFRS’ fleet of vehicles as safe, and as efficient, as possible.

“We would encourage all fleet managers to sign up to the DfBB Kent and Medway programme. You’ll be helping to protect your employees and make our county’s roads safer.”

Nick Chard, Chair of Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority

“It’s incredibly important that we work with partner agencies across Kent and Medway to support businesses across the county in reducing work-related road risks. By working together, we can make our roads even safer and I would encourage employers in both the public and private sectors to access the free support available.”
