Driving for Better Business in Kent & Medway

Driving for Better Business is working with the Kent and Medway Casualty Reduction Partnership to deliver tools, information and resources tailored specifically to help local businesses with staff who drive for work.

Driving for Better Business is a government-backed National Highways programme. Our mission is to improve the levels of compliance for all those who drive or ride for work by demonstrating the significant business benefits of managing work-related road risk more effectively.

It is free to join and all our resources are free to access and distribute. Check out some of the improvements that have been seen by other local firms and then join the programme to see if your business can benefit.

Driving for Better Business Kent & Medway Safer Roads Vision Zero

“The new Driving for Better Business Kent & Medway programme supports our Vision Zero Strategy and, in particular, the Safe Vehicles and Safe Road Use themes. Working in partnership with organisations that employ drivers for work, across Kent, will help make our roads safer for everyone and support Kent business.”

David Brazier, Cabinet Member for Highways & Transport

“As PCC, road safety is one of my priority areas, and we know that Kent’s public also want to see safer roads. Working in partnership we are committed to raising the standards of fleets in Kent and Medway. This is why we are pleased to support the Kent Driving for Better Business Programme, to help local businesses make their vehicles and drivers as safe as possible.”

Matthew Scott, Kent’s Police Crime Commissioner

“Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) is committed to working with Driving for Better Business (DfBB) to help educate people about the benefits of the initiative and to also demonstrate best practice.

“By working in partnership with DfBB, we are focused on making KFRS’ fleet of vehicles as safe, and as efficient, as possible.

“We would encourage all fleet managers to sign up to the DfBB Kent and Medway programme. You’ll be helping to protect your employees and make our county’s roads safer.”

Nick Chard, Chair of Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority

“I am pleased we are working with partner agencies on the new Driving for Better Business programme in Kent and Medway. The innovative partnership will help make our roads even safer for drivers in Medway, as well as providing support to businesses.”

Phil Filmer, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Frontline Services

“Working with our partners is vital to the success of the Driving for Better Business programme. The South East section of the Strategic Road Network carries an enormous amount of traffic and so we’re excited at the possibilities offered by this new regional collaboration with the Kent and Medway Casualty Reduction Partnership to engage local van fleet operators.”
