Operation Tramline
Operation Tramline is a National Highways road safety initiative. It has three plain HGV cabs which it lends to police forces around the country to help them keep you safe from dangerous drivers. You can find out what regions are using the Operation Tramline cabs at any time on our calendar.
The use of HGV cabs doesn’t mean they only target HGV drivers. In fact 60% of the drivers asked to stop for a chat by police during Tramline shifts are in vans or cars. Many of the offences Operation Tramline identifies relate to driver behaviour, distraction or complacency. This reinforces the importance of maintaining a strong safety culture, where drivers understand both their responsibilities and the consequences of unsafe behaviour.
As a fleet manager, you have a key role in helping drivers make safe choices every time they get behind the wheel. Effective driver management is about more than compliance. It’s about protecting people, reducing risk, and ensuring everyone gets home safe and well.
