With the current restrictions on movement, most of us housebound for the foreseeable future, and an increasing number self-isolating with Covid-19 symptoms, many are relying on home delivery.

Add to that, our nation’s delivery drivers are the ones responsible for getting essential supplies such as masks, gloves and hand sanitiser to our under-pressure health professionals currently battling coronavirus at immense personal risk.

The courier and home delivery sector has never been more important to the UK and these essential drivers are currently working extremely hard providing a vital service for the country that could literally be the difference between life and death.

With that in mind, I would encourage everyone using delivery drivers at the moment, whether they’ve ordered packages themselves, or whether they’re sending vital packages out, to ensure they take steps to protect both themselves and the drivers.

Please make sure you have a safe place where the driver can leave or collect your package to minimise any contact with the driver.

The large courier firms are all issuing general guidance on how you can help keep their drivers safe to continue these vital deliveries. Click the links to read their coronavirus updates.
